Gum and Stump
Olly Smith, the wine expert on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, has written a cosy crime novel about a crime-busting vintner. I bet he has a palate for the unpalatable. Top notes of intrigue, mystery and mayhem. It comes with an enthusiastic recommendation from ex-pop star, current pundit (and cosy crime author) The Reverend Richard Coles.
This is modern publishing red in tooth and claw. If it had teeth and claws. Grey in gum and stump.
Pathetic.
"I wasn't going to buy this book, but the ex-keyboard player of The Communards says it's ace, so...Plus I believe the author is a close personal friend of Tim Lovejoy. That's your mark of quality, right there!"
"Customers also bought books by Richard Osman, Oz Clarke and Jeremy Vine."
I bet they did. I bet they did.
