I Am What I Play.

 I'm a DJ now.

I'm 54, and I'm a DJ.

Who wants this? A middle-aged man playing old records that he thinks are good. And that's what I'll be doing. I'll be playing records I like. Just me, in many cases. My taste is...eclectic. I like some traditionally good things, that everyone agrees on. And then I like other things that have more specialised appeal. And I'll play some of the former and people will nod, and maybe even dance. And then I'll play the other ones, and I'll dance, twirling, lost under the mirror ball, communing with my strange gods.

I don't care. There's nothing really riding on this. I just want to play music I think will sound good in a big room. I'll be playing Echo and the Bunnymen's "Bring On The Dancing Horses", just because I've never heard anyone ever play it. There's probably a reason. It's not exactly "Dancing Queen". But I want to hear it. DJ Selfish. Up His Own Arse MC.

I'm cool with that.

I'm DJing with Joe Nawaz, whose taste is similarly wayward. There are three Hot Chocolate songs in our potential - seven hour - set, and NONE of them are "You Sexy Thing". We don't care what you think. We're old and we don't care.

Please come along and enjoy.
