Alive in victory, and you thought me slain.

 The most popular post I've ever put on Facebook is the story of me going into a bar, and chatting to a stranger who then denies my lived experience, dismisses my career and calls me a "nothing."

The least popular post - with a current tally of "no likes" - is the story of how I was shortlisted for inclusion in the world's best horror anthology. 

Hard to know what you people want from "Brand Higgins". But it's not triumph, is it? It's not victory.
